“Braille is knowledge, and knowledge is power.”
WORLD BRAILLE DAY was created to commemorate Louise Braille, the creator of Braille as a means of communication for the people who are blind. To raise awareness about this we organised a session for our students with Ms. Payal Kapoor. Ms. Payal Kapoor is a motivational speaker and disability inclusion evangelist. She showed and explained various appliances and gadgets like the Braille Board, Braille Paper, her watch, kitchen measuring cups and other equipment which are specially designed for the blind people to help in their daily routine chores. Her motivational speech encouraged our students that any sort of disability is not a barrier for an optimistic person. Our curious students put up several questions which were gracefully answered by Ms. Payal Kapoor. By the end of the session our students became conscious that everyone has the right to enjoy the life despite of any disability. We all learnt, putting the “Person first”, not their disability.
