All the staff, students, teachers, and parents of Gitanjali Vedika celebrated the 75th Independence Day with reverence. It was a delightful set of events that showcased patriotism as well as the Indian culture. Grade 1 students dressed up as their favourite freedom fighters and learnt about them. Our tiny tots celebrated Independence Day on a virtual platform. In memory of those who sacrificed themselves for our nation’s freedom, the kids dressed up as freedom fighters. They also made tricolour badges and tricolour flags with lentils. They enjoyed connecting to their sense of nationalism by singing patriotic songs as Grade 2 students took a musical route. Grade 3 students showed their respect to our nation’s great leaders by reciting their famous slogans. On the 13th of August, a one-hour special assembly was conducted online. This event brought together all the members of our school including the parents. This virtual session showcased the abundance of talent at Gitanjali Vedika. The students expressed their love for our country through dance, music, speeches, and poetry. The highlight of the show was the short film on Dandi March made by the students of class 7A. It was a proud day as we celebrated our Independence as well as the creativity of our children. On the 15th of August, the school hosted a flag hoisting event presided by our Principal, Mrs. Sonia Nagpal. The parents, teachers and the school council members were a part of this joyous and proud celebration.
