Raising awareness during disasters, evacuation and mock drills

In order to raise awareness during disasters, evacuation and mock drills are essential components of the school curriculum. Students are taught to follow directions, be composed, avoid panic, and be responsible, quick, and alert. Gitanjali Devakul held a mock fire drill for its kids as a preventative measure and routine mitigating step to protect them from any such calamity in the future. The program's goal was to prevent panic and stampedes of any kind. The Emergency Exit Plan and the actions required for a speedy evacuation were explained in advance to all members of the school personnel, pupils, and support staff.

As soon as the alarm sounded, the staff members positioned themselves at predetermined locations to direct and help the children. In the event of an emergency, the students promptly dispersed in the appropriate lines and arrived at the location assigned to each class. In a short period of time, the pupils left the school building. To make sure that every student was there and that no child was left behind in the building, the class teachers conducted a head count after the evacuation.
