Assembly on Respect and understanding of gender

It is important to respect all genders as this helps to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all. The students of class ‘8C’ at Gitanjali Devakul organized an assembly on 'Respect and understanding of gender'. The assembly started with a skit showing that a profession does not depend on gender. Boys wanted to become nurses and girls wanted to pursue a career in the defence services. Everyone has their own career choice, regardless of their gender. Respecting women means recognizing their inherent dignity, rights and individuality and treating them with fairness, kindness and equality, whether at home, at work or in society.

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also an essential prerequisite for peaceful societies with full human potential and sustainable development. At the end of the assembly, the students took an oath to respect and value every person regardless of their gender and to work against stereotypical discrimination.
