Gitanjali Devakul took part in a program conducted by Ashray-Akruti, Non- Government organization working for people with disabilities aimed at raising knowledge and comprehension of sign language and the difficulties experienced by the community of people who are hard of hearing.

The main goal of this program is to improve awareness of the difficulties faced by people with hearing impairments in order to establish a more inclusive environment. In addition to providing instruction to staff and students, this program featured a sign language performance of the National Anthem.
