Every child is unique and must be taught the way he/she can learn and not just the way they are simply taught. Some are with special educational and emotional needs. They are wired and inspired differently. They need acceptance and support to overcome their learning difficulties. They are just differently abled, not disabled. A workshop on ‘Management of Learning Disabilities’ was conducted at Gitanjali Devakul on 05th June 2024 by the Principal, Ms.Sreelekha Suresh. The workshop was attended by all the teachers. The workshop was aimed to make teachers aware of learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysphasia, etc. Learning problems in reading, writing and arithmetic were discussed. Through this interactive session and discussions, teachers deepened their understanding of different learning disabilities, learning styles, identification of children with learning disabilities and remediation methods. They also gained insight into promoting self-awareness and confidence in students with learning difficulties in order to achieve a positive learning experience and academic success. The workshop emphasised that these children should be given clear instructions and their small achievements should be applauded and rewarded to make them a part of the main stream.
