We at Vedika believe that students learn better when they do than just read in a classroom. To better understand Physics concepts and to explore nature, the students of grades 6,7, and 8 went on a field trip to Do Science, Sanjeeviah Park. The excitement was palpable as the students packed themselves into school buses, armed with snacks, ready to learn and have fun. The guides at DoScience taught the students the working principle of levers, pulleys, reflection in mirrors, concept of optical illusions, kaleidoscope, solar cells and Mobius strip. The students were then given time to explore the area and try out the mechanisms of different simple machines. They got the opportunity to take a nature walk through the butterfly garden, play Frisbee and climb trees, experiencing all that the park had to offer. The trip concluded with the students visiting the national flag erected in the park grounds, showing their appreciation for the country by singing the national anthem.
