Sankranti Celebrations
The greatness of a culture is found in its festivals.
To celebrate and bring awareness about our rich Indian culture and tradition, Gitanjali Vedika students of grades 1,2 and 3 presented a vivid special assembly on Sankranti festival. The students showcased this harvest festival celebrated all across the country with different names like Lohri in Punjab, Posh Sankranti in Bengal, Bihu in Assam, Pongal in Tamil Nadu and Makar Sankranti in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. The students along with their seniors, wearing traditional clothes of these states, gleefully danced around the bonfire, colourful rangolis and flower arrangements, flying kites and singing festival special songs. The vibrancy of the onset of this first grand festival of the year filled the entire school with enthusiasm.
