Green living and preserving our environment is the need of the hour. As our children are the future of the planet, developing a love for nature and instilling in them the responsibility to protect Earth's biodiversity and natural resources. To achieve this goal, Gitanjali Vedika organised two sessions with Mr. D. Suresh, famously known as Solar Suresh.
In his first session, Mr. Suresh spoke to our students about 'Hydroponics', an emerging technology of growing plants without soil. This could be a potential solution to shortage of food worldwide. The second session conducted the following day, was an inspiring talk on all the projects undertaken by Mr. Suresh in his own home such as usage of solar power, rainwater harvesting, a biogas plant, a vast terrace garden, India's first solar car, and his work with companies to provide employment to unskilled workers as well as disposal of waste in an eco-friendly way. The takeaway message from these two webinars were - 'Be doers not just thinkers'. His persona and dedication rubbed off on our students and motivated them to take little steps to reduce their carbon footprint.
