Ugadi is the festival reserved to celebrate the commencement of the New Year. It is assumed that Lord Brahma, the creator of the world began His creation on this day. The first day of bright half of the lunar month Chaitra is considered to be the day for Ugadi celebration, which generally falls in the months of March – April of the English calendar. The festival of Ugadi also welcomes the spring season when nature seems to be immersed in the festive mood and new leaves and new buds along with fresh breeze of spring manifold the Ugadi spirit.
This imminent New Telugu Year ‘Ugadi’ was celebrated with traditional vehemence at Gitanjali Vedika School with great pomp and show.
Children took part in the celebration of the festival with great enthusiasm. They wore traditional dresses and spoke about the importance of the festival and the customary ‘Ugadi Pachchadi’,an amalgamation of six different tastes representing different components of life. As a part of the celebration our tiny-tots prepared beautiful festoons under the guidance of their teachers. The celebration focused on the different shades of the life and the warm start of the celebration spread the festival vibes in the atmosphere.
