Earth Hour

Excessive use of electricity depletes the Earth's fossil fuel reserves faster. To create more awareness

about climate change and energy conservation, Earth Hour is celebrated on the last Saturday of

March every year. People from almost 190 countries participate in this event where they turn off the

lights and appliances at 8.30pm local time.

Students of Gitanjali Vedika used the opportunity of Earth Hour to spend some meaningful time with

family. They had candlelight dinner with parents, grandparents and siblings in the warm ambience

created by the light of candles.

Through this activity, the students got to understand the importance of energy conservation while

strengthening their bonds with family and friends.
