On a bright and sunny day, students of Grade 8 and 9 embarked on an exciting educational journey to the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) in Hyderabad. This field trip was a window into the captivating world of oceanography and environmental monitoring, offering young minds a glimpse into the vital work conducted at INCOIS.

INCOIS, a premier institution under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, plays a pivotal role in understanding and predicting the mysteries of the ocean. Its mission encompasses various facets of oceanographic research, environmental monitoring, and disaster management, especially in the Indian Ocean region.

During the visit, the students had the privilege of gaining insights into how INCOIS functions. The students were engaged in interactive sessions where experts explained complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner. They had the opportunity to ask questions and delve deeper into topics of interest. 

The visit included hands-on activities, such as observing oceanographic instruments and simulating tsunami scenarios. These activities made learning experiential and memorable.
