At Gitanjali Vedika, we believe that education extends beyond classrooms and textbooks  it is about nurturing values of empathy, compassion, and responsibility in our students. True to this vision, when devastating floods and landslides struck several states across India including Uttarakhand, Punjab, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam  our school community rose in solidarity to support those affected.

Taking note of the widespread devastation, Gitanjali Vedika  initiated a Flood Relief Donation Drive in association with Goonj, a nationally recognized organization working tirelessly in disaster relief and rehabilitation.

The drive was organized in a class-wise contribution format, where each grade was entrusted with bringing a specific essential items from food grains like rice, pulses, and wheat flour, to utensils, slippers, blankets, mosquito repellents, umbrellas, sanitary pads, medicines, raincoats, torches, and batteries.

The enthusiastic participation of our parent community was truly heartwarming. Families responded with generosity and urgency, reinforcing the belief that compassion is best expressed through collective action. Our young learners, too, experienced the significance of giving — understanding that even a single blanket, a pair of slippers, or a small packet of food can bring immense relief and dignity to someone in distress.

All the collected relief material was systematically handed over to Goonj, who ensured that these essentials reached the flood-affected regions where families are battling to rebuild their lives. Through this effort, Gitanjali Vedika not only extended tangible support to those in need but also reinforced its commitment to creating socially responsible citizens.

This initiative stands as a testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community under strong leadership. As we believe, “Education is not only about academic excellence but also about shaping compassionate individuals who care for society.”
