Math, Science and Social Exhibition (2022-23) Lores of Yore

Gitanjali Devashray held an inimitable amalgamation of Mathematics, Science and Social through a unique exhibition – LORES OF YORE. The exhibition showcased a fascinating concoction of the three distinctive branches of human knowledge viz., Mathematics, Science and Social Studies through a wide array of models, experiments and ideas, a celebration of the spirit, effort and dreams of ancient man.

Starting with a prayer song by the school choir and a welcome dance by the students of grade VII, the exhibition held its viewers captivated by its ingeniousness. Grades I, II and III had the theme ‘Mysteries of Nature’  and showcased various objects of Nature like the rainbow, butterfly, rafflesia, jellyfish, peregrine falcon, Mount Kailash, Bermuda Triangle to name a few. The creativity and expertise of Grade IV, V and VI students were displayed through their theme, ‘Mysteries behind Historical Monuments and Temples’ and threw light on the scientific and mathematical attributes of Gol Gumbaz, Taj Mahal, Golconda Fort, Jwalamukhi Temple, Vitthala Temple in Hampi, Lepakshi Temple, Yaganti Temple, Magnetic Hill, in Ladakh and Jagannath Temple, Puri. Grade VII demonstrated the science behind ‘Accoustics, Music and Dance’ using various musical instruments. The functioning of  various ‘Weaponry, Warfare and Metallurgy’ was chosen as their theme by the students of Grade VIII.  ‘Architecture, Soil and Stone’ was modeled by grade IX and ‘Farming and Fabric’ was showcased by grade X.

Lores of Yore was graced by the presence of the Managing Director of Gitanjali Group of Schools, Mr Jai Karan, and Chief Guest, eminent scientist, Dr Amit Bhattacharjee, Scientist ‘G’ at Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Hyderabad. The vision of the Management, support of the Leaders, mentoring of the Staff, impressive dexterity and dedication of the students along with the procedural support of the Technical team, helped the exhibition to reach its fruition, which was much appreciated by the parents.
