Mind It - at Gitanjali Devashray

If You Always Do What You’ve Always Done, You Always Get What You’ve Always Gotten’

This is a landmark year for Gitanjali Devashray. The school turns twenty, marking two decades of excellence in the field of education. It is a proud moment for all its stakeholders- the management, leaders, teachers, parents and students. What has powered this journey and is still enduring is the school’s singular focus on the holistic development of each student. With the guidance and support of the management, the school has very successfully implemented various programmes to promote all-round development of the children.

One noteworthy initiative in this larger endeavour has been the ‘Experts Speak Forum,’ where specialists from various fields address the parents and students on a range of relevant topical issues.

The very first session of ‘Experts Speak' for the academic year 2023-24 took place on April 1st, 2023. A very pertinent workshop was held to equip parents on ways to tap the full potential of their child. To speak on this subject, the school invited Ms Vassavi Lakhani, founder of ‘Mind It.’ The platform ‘Mind It,’ is dedicated to help students overcome self-doubt, fears, limiting beliefs, self-image issues, and anxiety using a variety of tools, techniques, games, and other modalities to unlock their true potential.
Ms Lakhani is also a life coach and offers personality development and career guidance with over 21 years of experience in coaching services. The session had a number of takeaways:

  • Parents were made aware of techniques that can help children overcome, ‘screen addiction’
  • How to raise resilient children.
  • And finally they were given tips on how they can enable their children to focus, concentrate and learn better.
  • In other words, the parents were equipped with strategies using which they could empower their children to achieve success in anything they set out to do in life.
  • Most felt the workshop was indeed the need of the hour and all the attendees truly benefitted from the experience.
