Exploring the Wonders of Ophthalmology: A School Session for Students

On 5th August 2023, Gitanjali Vedika held an enlightening session on ophthalmology, offering students a unique opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of eye health and vision. Led by Dr. Jyothi Kondakalla, a prominent ophthalmologist from Susheela Nethralaya Eye Hospital Manikonda and Citi Eye Hospital, Khajaguda, the session aimed to educate students about the importance of eye care, common eye conditions, and the wonders of the human visual system.

The session began with an introduction to ophthalmology, the medical field dedicated to the study and treatment of eye disorders. Students were provided an overview of the different parts of the eye, including the cornea, iris, lens, retina, and optic nerve, and how they work together to create the sense of sight. The interactive visual aids and models helped simplify complex concepts, making it easy for students to grasp the information.
