On a refreshing morning, the Principal, coordinators, and teachers of Gitanjali Vedika School visited Fakruddin Gutta in collaboration with the Society to Save Rocks. This hidden gem, known for its ancient rock formations, is under threat from Hyderabad’s rapid urbanization.
The journey began with a scenic bus ride, followed by a short climb into the rocky terrain. Members of the Society guided the group, sharing insights about the geological and ecological significance of the area. The team was deeply moved to learn how these natural structures are being lost to quarrying and development.
Inspired and informed, the teachers pledged to support conservation efforts. Capturing the beauty through photographs, they hoped to raise awareness about preserving this natural heritage.
Back at school, the group enjoyed a warm breakfast of idlis and tea, followed by a reflective staff meeting at the peaceful Serenity Spot. Surrounded by nature and calm, the teachers discussed the day’s learnings and reinforced their commitment to environmental mindfulness.
The visit to Fakruddin Gutta was more than a walk—it was a powerful reminder to protect what nature has gifted us before it’s too late.
