Session on Cycling as an Eco-Friendly Mode of Transportation

Gitanjali Vedika School  organized an enlightening session on 27 February 2026, for students of Grades 6 and 7 on the theme “Cycling as a Sustainable Mode of Transportation,” conducted by the GoSharpener Team. The session aimed to promote cycling as an environmentally responsible, healthy, and practical alternative to fuel-based commuting.

The facilitators emphasized how bicycles produce zero carbon emissions, reduce traffic congestion, and significantly lower noise and air pollution levels. Students were introduced to the environmental impact of short-distance motor vehicle usage and how replacing such trips with cycling can contribute meaningfully to climate action and cleaner urban spaces.

Beyond environmental benefits, the session also highlighted the personal advantages of cycling, including improved physical fitness, mental well-being, enhanced concentration, and overall cardiovascular health. The presenters explained how adopting cycling as a daily habit fosters discipline, independence, and resilience among young learners.

Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, students reflected on their own commuting patterns and explored practical ways to incorporate cycling into their daily routines. The session inspired them to view the bicycle not merely as a recreational tool, but as a powerful symbol of sustainable living and responsible citizenship.
