Soil testing

Soil is where the food chain begins and thus forms one of the most essential components of life. Thus, studying it is of paramount importance. Gitanjali Vedika visited a soil testing facility in Rajendra Nagar to learn more about this vital facet of lifeform on Earth.

Edaphology known to be the study of soil and plant growth. 

Soil is a material composed of five ingredients - minerals, soil organic matters, living organisms, gas and water. Soil provides the structural support to plants used in agriculture and is also their source of water and nutrients. Soils vary greatly in their chemical and physical properties. Soil is formed by different particles such as gravel, rock, sand, silt, clay, loam and humus. 

Soil is classified into four kinds, namely, sandy soil, silt soil, loamy soil, and clay soil.
