Telugu Day

A language is an exact reflection and growth of its speakers. Telugu, the representative language of Telangana and Andhra shows the unique and rich history of battles, kingdoms, literature and art.

Telugu Day, also known as "Telugu Basha Dinotsavam," is observed on September 13th each year to commemorate the birthday of Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy, a prominent Telugu linguist and visionary who played a crucial role in promoting the Telugu language. The day is an opportunity to foster a sense of pride in the language and to acknowledge its contribution to literature, art, and society.

To commemorate this day, students of Gitanjali Vedika gathered in the school ground for an assembly which was conducted in Telugu. Proverbs spoken in Telugu provided food for thought. Students gave speeches on the importance of Telugu as a language and its cultural significance and made an oath to help promote the beauty of the language. Devotional songs made the air thrum with positivity as the day's celebrations drew to a close.
