In a recent educational session at Gitanjali Vedika School, we delved into the fascinating topic of tribal diseases. This session aimed to shed light on the health challenges faced by indigenous communities around the world, their unique healthcare practices, and the efforts being made to address these issues.
The keynote speaker Mr. RV Prasad,Board Member in Samaritan for Nation NGO, aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the health challenges faced by tribal communities, focusing on their unique health issues, causes, prevention, and possible interventions.
The session began by highlighting the prevalence of communicable diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and waterborne infections due to inadequate sanitation and hygiene. The session delved into the challenges faced by health authorities in addressing tribal health issues. These challenges include the difficulty of reaching remote locations, language barriers, lack of trust in modern medicine, and insufficient healthcare infrastructure. Lack of proper nutrition, education, and socioeconomic disparities were also identified as contributing factors.
