Gitanjali Vedika presented ‘Vedika Scientastic’, our first full fledged offline Science Exhibition in the month of August, 2022. Every child of grades 1 to 8 participated enthusiastically and presented their exhibits through speeches, videos, models and experiments. This helped them learn more about their topic. Learning while doing helps children learn faster and retain information longer.
Everyone from grades 1 to 3 took up different topics for the exhibition. Students of 1A presented the eco-friendly ways of celebrating festivals and other celebrations(Green Fiesta), with 'Cosy Homes' exhibits, 1B students presented various types of houses around the world like tree house, igloo, mobi houses etc. Through 'Sensory Bliss', the 1C students took through the wonderful experiences of our sensory organs.
Grade 2 students showcased planet earth as their core theme. From the earth being a part of the 'Heliocentric Bodies' (by 2B) to the 'World of Flora and the Fauna' dependent on it (2C) and the human activities that create different types of pollution with a serious need of implementing 'Solution to Pollution' (2A), they wowed one and all with their displays.
Grade 3 students time travelled through past, present and future by 'Connecting the World' through various types of commucation that has evolved and is still in progress.
The young scientists of grade 1,2 and 3 from Cambridge department with their ignited minds presented difficult topics through simple experiments and models. Grade 1CP students explained the 'Properties of Materials' wonderfully. Thinking of 'Force in Action’ makes one recall the great scientist Newton! Grade 2CP students understood Newton's Three Laws of Motion and effortlessly presented it through interesting exhibits. Students of grade 3CP exuberantly worked on 'Light and Shadow' and presented their displays. A small skit through light and shadow was a cherry on the cake!
Grade 4 students showed how force and friction play a major role in our everyday lives. Grade 5 students emphasized on the importance of Health, Hygiene and Happiness while Grade 6 students created awareness on the importance of food, a healthy diet, adulteration and global hunger statistics. Grade 7 and 8 students focused on climate change, alternative fuel and bettering the planet. Grade 8 students partnered with 'Mahindra' to learn the difference between internal combustion engines and electric vehicles. They learnt the benefits on the environment that switching to electric vehicles leads to. All in all, the event was a successful integration of curiosity, science and environmentalism.
Gitanjali Vedika’s “Scientastic” gave the students not only motivation, but also awareness on time-management and planning of their work. It has given them an opportunity to investigate, enquire, understand, express and communicate. They gained confidence by communicating their part of details to the parents. Overall, the quality of projects were amazing and impressed all the parents and visitors. This exhibition has laid a foundation for the students to enhance their skills to participate confidently in next level competitions and future endeavors.
