Overview

The Gitanjali system of education is designed to maximize the all round development of the child’s potential by providing complete academic support while building life skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration and physical skills in a nurturing values based environment for every child to move forward with confidence.

Sports, physical education, yoga, theatre, music, computer education, art, library, value education, creative writing, general knowledge are all integrated in the school curriculum. The school also has a one hour hobby period per week where children can choose from Karate, Skating, Western and Indian dance, AI & Robotics, Table Tennis, Keyboard, Metamorphosis, Space Club etc.

The school provides professional training facilities for games such as Cricket, Throw ball, Basketball, Tennis, etc.

The Schools STEM programme encourages a scientific temperament, innovation and creativity giving the students the joy of ‘learning by doing’. Social Sciences are made relevant through experiential learning. ICT forms an integral part of all teaching –learning practices.

A unique film based value education programme, integrates moral values, life skills and decision-making skills through entertaining films and interesting activities.

Children participate in a wide range of Inter – House and Inter School competitions which help in fostering team spirit, healthy competition and sportsmanship. The school recognizes and supports children who participate at state and national level competitions.

Excursions and picnics in and around the city are organized every year. Educational tours are also conducted for students with the motto ‘Know Your Country”.

A special section for the mild to moderate mentally challenged children was started in two of our schools. These differently–abled children are integrated into the regular stream as per their abilities. The focus is on developing life skills and encouraging social integration.

When was the school established?
- Gitanjali Primary School was founded in April 1985 at Begumpet Hyderabad and houses Nursery to VI. Gitanjali Senior School at Begumpet was opened in June 1990 for Classes VII to XII. Gitanjali Devshala at Sappers Lines, Secunderabad was inaugurated in June 1997. In response to the demand for high standards of education in the CBSE curriculum, Gitanjali Devashray was started in June 2003 at S.D. Road, Secunderabad. Gitanjali Vedika in Puppalguda, Hyderabad was started in June 2020.
What are the eligibility criteria for admission?
- Children may be admitted into Nursery if they have completed 3 years of age and Class I if they have completed 6 years of age and so on.
What is the deadline for admissions?
- The academic year commences from March and ends in February. There is no deadline for admissions. The school will stop issuing Enquiry forms and admitting students when seats are no longer available in a class. Prospective parents are required to submit the Birth Certificate / Transfer Certificate / AADHAR, or any indisputable evidence of the Date of Birth and the last examination report

- We provide multiple opportunities to parents to partner with us in the school’s activities.
Are competitions conducted in school?
- Literary, cultural, and sports competitions are conducted in school. Competitions bring out talents in children as well as instill confidence, perseverance, creativity, public speaking skills and help students overcome stage fright.
How can parents provide feedback or address concerns?
- Parents can connect with the class teacher through mail or office phone to set up an appointment with the Principal or the Coordinators to address any concerns they have.
Do the children get to pursue any hobbies?
- We have weekly hobby classes for students from grade 1 onwards. They can choose from a variety of indoor hobbies like - Indian and western dance, creative canvas, yoga & sloka chanting, chess, carroms, drama, gymnastics, metamorphosis, robotics, table tennis.
  
  Apart from these, outdoor hobbies include handball, basketball, cricket, skating, tennis.
  
  The children are trained by professional trainers.
What extracurricular activities and clubs are available to students?
- The timetable is set in such a way that it works towards the overall development of the children. Apart from academic teaching, there's STEM learning which works towards the logical and analytical skills of the children. Art, music and dance not only hone the artistic skills but also relaxes the mind. Karate classes teach the children self-defense along with self-discipline while value education through specially designed movies help children to connect socially and emotionally with their peers, family and neighbours. Sport activities keep the body agile and the mind alert apart from recreation. Yoga classes help the children to develop concentration, calmness of mind and healthy body.

- The school offers both ICSE and Cambridge curriculums. Currently, Cambridge Curriculum is till grade 4 and ICSE till grade 9.
